The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- invites the university community of the David Campus to be part of its delegation in the second edition of the Parade of a Thousand Naguas 2026, organized by the Municipality of David.
The activity will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, starting from the Parque de las Madres, in David, Chiriquí, and will bring together public and private institutions and universities from the region in a day dedicated to culture, identity and traditions.
The Parade of a Thousand Naguas is a cultural meeting place that pays homage to the identity and legacy of the Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous woman, highlighting the value of her cultural expressions as part of the richness and diversity of Panama.
In this context, UMECIT invites students, faculty, and staff from the David campus to join the institutional delegation and actively participate in this cultural celebration. This initiative offers an opportunity to connect as a university community, strengthen our ties with the region's cultural expressions, and support an activity that recognizes our roots and diversity.
Through the University Welfare Program, specifically the Folklore and Culture axis, UMECIT promotes spaces that allow the university community to approach the country's traditions and cultural expressions, fostering their knowledge, appreciation, and preservation.
