The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- strengthens its commitment to entrepreneurs in Chilibre through SCES-UMECIT and the signing of agreements with the Chilibre Community Board and AMPYME.

Our University took a new step in its commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship and developing opportunities for communities, with the start of the evaluation of entrepreneurs from Chilibre through the UMECIT Sustainable Entrepreneurship Certification System (SCES-UMECIT).

This methodology seeks to understand the reality of each venture, identify its strengths and opportunities for improvement, and provide tools that contribute to better decision-making and the construction of more sustainable ventures.

The day was also marked by the signing of two important collaboration agreements. The first was between UMECIT, represented by its rector, José Alberto Nieto Rojas, and the Chilibre Community Board, chaired by Representative Josimar Camaño. The second was between UMECIT and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (AMPYME), led by Silvia Fábrega.

During the event, Rector José Alberto Nieto Rojas emphasized that entrepreneurship depends not only on having financial resources, but also on having conviction and perseverance to develop an idea, overcome challenges, and turn it into an increasingly solid and robust project.

He also highlighted the importance of moving towards the formalization of businesses and reiterated that UMECIT's doors are open in terms of education for those who wish to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

In this regard, she made a special appeal to female entrepreneurs to continue cultivating their initiatives and to maintain perseverance as a fundamental part of the entrepreneurial journey.

For his part, Representative Josimar Camaño, president of the Chilibre Community Board, emphasized that entrepreneurship requires, above all, will and determination, more than money. During his remarks, he specifically encouraged the community's youth to get involved in entrepreneurial initiatives, take advantage of training opportunities, and succeed through their ideas, effort, and perseverance.

Camaño thus highlighted the importance of providing new generations with spaces and tools that allow them to turn their initiatives into development opportunities.

For her part, the director of AMPYME, Silvia Fábrega, highlighted the importance of joint work between the institutions and noted that this alliance will allow the development of a work plan with strategies and actions aimed at entrepreneurs at the national level.

The AMPYME representative also valued the link between business and academia, highlighting that this type of initiative contributes to the strengthening of both sectors and thanked UMECIT for joining this joint work objective.

The collaboration between university, community, and institutions allows for the creation of spaces for support, training, and business strengthening, creating better conditions for ideas to be transformed into projects and projects into ventures with greater potential for sustainability and growth.

With these actions, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to educate, connect, support and transform, putting knowledge and institutional connections at the service of entrepreneurs, young people and the development of communities.
