With the purpose of strengthening academic, scientific and research cooperation, authorities from the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- and the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (IMELCF) held a working meeting to review progress and renew the Framework Agreement for Institutional Cooperation that unites both entities.

During the meeting, initiatives were discussed aimed at expanding internship opportunities for students, promoting joint research projects, strengthening scientific production, and encouraging the participation of IMELCF officials in academic activities organized by UMECIT, including conferences, book publications, and the institutional scientific journal.

The rector of UMECIT, Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, highlighted that the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences has been a strategic ally for the university, especially for the Criminalistics program.

We have developed research projects that allow our students to acquire all the necessary tools to enter the workforce. Furthermore, we thank the IMELCF for opening its doors to our students for their professional internships and for continuing to strengthen this relationship through research, books, the scientific journal, and the conferences organized by the university."», the rector stated.

For his part, the general director of IMELCF, Dr. Abdiel Abel Rentería Ramos, highlighted the importance of continuing to consolidate this institutional alliance.

«"The training of highly qualified professionals in Forensic Sciences is fundamental to guaranteeing the quality of investigations, the fair administration of justice, and the well-being of society. With the renewal of this agreement, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working in a coordinated manner on training, research, and scientific development, providing students with a space where they can strengthen their skills and knowledge at the highest level."», he pointed out.

The meeting allowed for a review of the existing agreement and the establishment of new lines of work that will strengthen cooperation between both institutions in areas such as internships, academic exchange, research, scientific production and specialized training.
