The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- participated in the 7th Latin American Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2026), an important international meeting that brought together academics, researchers and industry leaders with the purpose of exchanging knowledge, promoting innovation and strengthening research in the field of engineering and operations management.

The event took place from August 4 to 6, 2026 at the InterContinental Miramar Hotel in Panama City, establishing itself as a high-level space for academic dialogue, the presentation of research, and the establishment of collaborative networks between higher education institutions and the productive sector.

As part of UMECIT's institutional representation, students Marcos Cabrera and Fernando Caballero, from the Systems and Programming program, also participated. They had the opportunity to integrate into this international learning environment, learn about the latest trends in engineering and technology, and exchange experiences with specialists from various countries.

UMECIT's participation in these types of events reaffirms the university's commitment to academic excellence, internationalization, and comprehensive education.
