The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- reaffirms its commitment to sports, health and international projection by participating in the Press Conference of the Panama City Marathon 2026, held last Wednesday, August 19th in the Amador Room of the Sheraton Hotel.

An event of international scope and impact, the Panama City Marathon 2026 is establishing itself as a project of great sporting and institutional significance. By bringing together runners from more than 40 countries, the competition puts Panama on the world athletics map. Furthermore, it stands out as an officially qualifying event for the prestigious Boston Marathon, attracting elite athletes from around the globe.

Volunteer Commitment

UMECIT will be part of the group of partner universities responsible for the logistical support of the race. Our delegation will consist of more than 40 volunteers, who will lead the assistance and support at 2 of the 7 official hydration stations along the route.

With this participation, the university community reaffirms the values of teamwork, community service and institutional leadership in international events.
