UMECIT David shares socio-environmental research results in the community of Los Zambranos, Chiriquí

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, David campus, held a socialization of the results of the research project entitled last Friday, May 8 “Socio-environmental diagnosis for the sustainable development of the community of Los Zambranos, adjacent to the Brazo de Gómez stream, in Bijagual, Chiriquí”.

The activity aimed to share with the community and local authorities the findings obtained during the development of the research, which was geared towards promoting sustainable actions and strengthening community participation in environmental issues.

During the day, Professor Giselle Gómez, a teacher in the Bachelor's degrees in Occupational Safety and Health and Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, presented the main results of the study, highlighting the importance of promoting environmental conservation initiatives, reforestation and community education to contribute to the sustainable development of the area.

In addition, proposals for social intervention and future actions focused on community training in environmental protection and sustainability were shared.

The activity included the participation of students from the Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, who were part of the auxiliary research team, as well as teachers, administrative staff, local authorities and residents of the Los Zambranos community.

This space allowed for a valuable exchange of ideas between academia, the community, and the authorities, reaffirming UMECIT's commitment to applied research and the development of social and environmental impact projects that contribute to the well-being of communities.
