UMECIT celebrates emotional graduation ceremonies across the country and reaffirms its commitment to training agents of change

With deep emotion and pride, UMECIT continues celebrating its 2025 graduation ceremonies in various locations throughout the country. Following events held in Chitré, Santiago, and David, this Friday Panama City hosted three solemn ceremonies that brought together hundreds of new professionals and their families in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and hope.

The three days celebrated today were marked by moments of great emotion, where applause, hugs and tears of happiness reflected the effort of years of study and perseverance of the graduates.

During his speech, the rector emphasized that each diploma represents much more than an academic achievement: it symbolizes countless hours of dedication, sacrifice, and determination. He also paid tribute to the families, teachers, and loved ones who supported the students throughout their educational journey.

«"Knowledge only reaches its maximum value when it contributes to making people's lives better," said the rector, who invited the new professionals to practice their careers with ethics, commitment and a vocation for service.

He also noted that UMECIT's mission goes beyond professional training, focusing on the development of human beings capable of positively transforming their communities and responding to the challenges of a constantly changing world.

The ceremonies are part of the University's 91st graduating class, coinciding with UMECIT's 22nd anniversary, a milestone that reaffirms growth, academic excellence and institutional commitment to higher education.

In total, 1,047 graduates received their degrees at this UMECIT 2026 national graduation ceremony. Coming from different provinces of Panama and from several countries, the new professionals completed studies in technical, undergraduate, specialization, master's and doctoral programs, reflecting the growth of the university and its commitment to the training of human talent prepared to respond to the challenges of today's world.

The graduation tour will continue in the coming days with the ceremony scheduled in La Chorrera, where new graduates will join the community of professionals who today proudly bear the UMECIT seal.
