The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- took an important step in its commitment to educational quality by delivering, on April 8, the evaluation report for accreditation purposes of the Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health. before the Executive Secretariat of the National Council for Evaluation and Accreditation of Panama -CONEAUPA-. This report covers the offices of Panama, Chitré, Santiago, David and La Chorrera, and represents a historic moment in the process of guaranteeing academic excellence and continuous improvement.
Career accreditation is a fundamental process that guarantees the quality of educational programs, their organization, operation and the fulfillment of their social work. In this sense, the accreditation process of the Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health is a significant step for UMECIT, since it reinforces its commitment to educational quality and compliance with the highest standards of excellence.
Among the fundamental benefits of the accreditation process are the guarantee of the quality level of education in a country, equitable access to education for vulnerable populations and the promotion of the development of the continent. Present at the delivery of the accreditation report were the Rector of UMECIT, Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, along with prominent members of the institution such as María Piedad Nieto Rojas, Administrative Vice-Rector; Hermes Mauricio Sierra, Academic Vice-Rector; Gressy Zuñiga, Director of Accreditation; Ricaurte Betancourt, Coordinator of the Occupational Safety and Health Degree; Rosa Idalí Castañeda González, Legal and Academic Advisor and Alanis Tamayo, Accreditation Assistant. The report was received by Dr. María del Carmen Terrientes de Benavides, executive secretary of CONEAUPA.
