Last Monday, April 10, an interesting and disruptive workshop was held called: Stress is not in my notes, by the Spanish Coach Lucia Toro, where students from the Faculty of Health Sciences and other careers from the University, they were able to participate and learn positive support techniques about everyday life situations as university students.
Stress is an important issue in mental health and can affect both students and health professionals.
Health sciences students can often experience high levels of stress due to the rigorous and demanding nature of their training, as well as the emotional and psychological demands of working with patients and serious illnesses.
The effects of stress on students in this area of knowledge can be detrimental to both their mental health and their academic performance. Some of the consequences of chronic stress include anxiety, depression, fatigue, poor concentration, memory problems, and sleep disturbances.
It is important that health sciences students learn how to manage and reduce stress effectively to protect their well-being and improve their performance. Some effective stress reduction strategies include meditation, regular exercise, socializing, effective planning and organization of time, seeking emotional support, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
