Academic-social project will strengthen reintegration processes at the Changing Lives Center

Last Saturday, May 2nd, a visit was made to the Changing Lives Center, in which the articulation of an important academic-social project aimed at generating a positive impact in the community was presented.

The initiative will integrate courses from the Social Work degree program with a research group, strengthening the connection between academic training and social transformation. This project includes intervention processes such as socio-family assessments, comprehensive care, training, and sessions focused on developing soft skills and resilience.

Through these actions, the aim is to provide emotional and social tools that contribute to the personal strengthening of the participants, facilitating their return to their homes and their process of reintegration into society.

In addition, research will be conducted focusing on the analysis of the environment and social risk factors that may influence situations of substance dependence, in order to generate knowledge that contributes to future intervention strategies.

The project will begin on July 4th and represents a valuable collaboration between the areas of Extension and Social Engagement, Academics and Research, consolidating the institutional commitment to social and community development.

The visit included the participation of Jermaine Cumberbatch, along with teachers and academic authorities: Jorge Argueta, Belisario Villarreal, Alberto Flores, Patricia Casis, Gissell Guerrero, Yelitza González and Mylena Barba.
