Last Saturday, February 11, the Extension Coordination of the La Chorrera Campus of our House of Studies, together with students from the Occupational Safety and Health Degree, Social Work and Human Development and Business Administration Degree, participated in the Recycling Day organized by the organization for the conservation of the environment.
The event took place at the Gazebo of Parque Libertador in La Chorrera, under the motto "For a Green, Solidarity and Sustainable Panama West." The day consisted of collecting various materials for subsequent recycling, such as vegetable oil, cardboard, Tetra Pak, aluminum cans, paper, electronic waste, glass, cans, motor oil, plastic, batteries, love bottles , ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The main objective of this activity was to raise awareness among the entire university community about the great importance of recycling for the care of our natural resources and to show compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The participation of students from different degrees allowed integration and collaboration in a common project, in addition to promoting environmental education and fostering sustainable development.
In conclusion, the recycling activity carried out by the Extension Coordination of the La Chorrera Campus of the University, together with students from various degrees, was an important initiative to promote awareness of the importance of recycling and the care of our resources. natural resources, and show commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
