We are proud to announce that Atheyna Bylon, a UMECIT Physical Education and Personal Training student, has made impressive progress at the 2023 Pan American Games being held in Santiago, Chile. Her outstanding victory in the semifinals of the -75kg category against the Brazilian Viviane Dos Santos, with a score of 5-0 in her favor, not only places her in the final of these games, but also ensures her qualification for the Olympics in Paris 2024.

Atheyna Bylon is a prominent figure in Panamanian sports and has competed in two editions of the Olympic Games: Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, where she had the honor of being the flag bearer of the delegation. In addition, she has two world medals in her history, making her one of the most outstanding athletes in her country.

Her recent triumph at the 2023 Pan American Games marks the beginning of her path to Panama's Olympic history, as she has obtained one of the two available places in the semifinals of the women's -75 kg category.
