At UMECIT, we are committed to the care of the environment and aware of our responsibility in the proper management of waste. That is why we are pleased to announce the launching of our Recycling Campaign, in collaboration with Convierte and Lic. Cecyl Quintero.
Within the framework of Psychology Week 2023, Mr. Quintero gave a dynamic and participatory talk that sought to motivate and sensitize our educational community about the importance of recycling. The participants expressed their enthusiasm and support to spread this campaign in all the campuses of our institution.
The Extension Office, through the Social Outreach Subprogram and under the leadership of the Vice Rector of Projects, Santiago Nieto Rueda, is promoting this Recycling Campaign. Our main objective is to strengthen the integral management of waste, promoting the culture of recycling and reducing the amount of garbage at our sites nationwide.
To achieve this, we have installed recycling containers at all our sites as part of our Reduce, Reuse and Recycle strategy. These garbage cans will enable us to efficiently manage waste and contribute to the conservation of the environment.
By implementing this Campaign, we are complying with our University Social Responsibility Policies and contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 12, which seeks the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources, the reduction of food waste, the adoption of sustainable practices by companies, and the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse activities.
At UMECIT, we firmly believe that every action counts and that we can all contribute to the care of the environment. Therefore, we invite you to join our Recycling Campaign and be part of the change.
