Our Men's Basketball Team continues to proudly represent UMECIT in the 2026 University City Hoops, currently in third place in the overall standings and preparing to play their fourth championship game tomorrow.
The collective effort is also reflected in individual performance. Today, five students from our University are among the top scorers in the tournament:
• Anthony Hall – 6th place (11.0 points per game).
• Gilberto De Gracia – 8th place (10.0 points per game).
• Jaime Sanguillén – 12th place (8.5 points per game).
• Davis Castaño – 15th place (8.0 points per game).
• José Antonio Barco – 21st place (5.3 points per game).
These results reflect the commitment of our student athletes and the work that, under the leadership of coach Christian Arosemena, continues to strengthen a sports project that last year led UMECIT to obtain the runner-up position and that today continues to consolidate itself among the main university teams in the country.
From Student Welfare, we congratulate each member of the team for representing the values of our institution with dedication, respect, and a strong sense of belonging. We wish them the greatest success in tomorrow's match and reiterate our pride in the path they continue to forge.
