With pride and joy, the Herencia y Alegría UMECIT Folkloric Group participated in the first “Sing and Dance” Festival of the José Antonio Remón Cantera School, held in commemoration of the Day of the Farmer, as part of an initiative aimed at promoting and celebrating our traditions and cultural expressions.
This gathering brought together different schools, groups and artistic expressions, with musical and folkloric performances, bands, stands, traditional ranches, a beauty pageant and various activities that highlighted the richness of our customs and the value of cultural identity.
In this important setting, our students shared their talent through folk dance, representing UMECIT with enthusiasm, discipline, and pride in our traditions.
The participation was under the direction of professors María González and Lizzetti Ortega, and Professor Abdiel Pineda, who accompany the group's training and growth process at the different locations of the University.
As a token of appreciation for their participation, the Herencia y Alegría UMECIT Folkloric Group received a special recognition from the host institution, a gesture we value as part of the ties that continue to strengthen our group's presence in new cultural spaces.
This experience also represents another step in the growth of Herencia y Alegría UMECIT, a group that continues to consolidate itself as a space for students to develop their skills, share our traditions and bring folklore to different stages.
From the University Welfare Program, through the Folklore and Culture Axis, we continue to promote spaces that strengthen the identity, participation and artistic talent of our students.
UMECIT Heritage and Joy: proudly carrying our traditions, growing in every setting and leaving a mark through culture.
