Research on climate variations and their impact on the Azuero region
With the purpose of strengthening scientific dissemination and promoting spaces for analysis and academic exchange, UMECIT Chitré Campus held an important working meeting with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the province of Herrera, aimed at socializing the results of the research entitled: “Effects of climate variations on agricultural production and tourism in the Azuero region”.
The activity aimed to present the main findings of the study, so that these results could serve as input to strengthen the District Strategic Plan 2025-2029, thus contributing to decision-making and the development of sustainable strategies for the region.
During the meeting, the importance of scientific research as a fundamental tool for analyzing the environmental and socioeconomic challenges facing the Azuero region was highlighted. The exchange of ideas and perspectives related to the impact of climate change on key sectors such as agriculture and tourism was also promoted.
This initiative reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to generating scientific knowledge aimed at serving the community and finding sustainable solutions, while also strengthening the link between academia, government institutions and society.
