With the firm commitment to contribute to the strengthening of the country's business ecosystem, UMECIT, Chitré Campus, participated in the Entrepreneur Training Day organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Authority (AMPYME) of Herrera, held from June 3 to 5, 2026 in the Auditorium of the University of Panama, with the support of Minera Panamá.
This training initiative brought together entrepreneurial students and key players in regional economic development with the purpose of strengthening their technical, administrative and management skills, providing them with practical tools to turn their business ideas into sustainable and competitive projects.
During the day, participants received training in strategic areas such as business management, finance, marketing and business formalization, fundamental knowledge to promote solid ventures with greater opportunities for growth in the market.
UMECIT's participation in this important space reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive education of its students, promoting entrepreneurship as an alternative for personal, professional and community development.
Furthermore, this collaboration between the public sector, academia, and private enterprise demonstrates that working together is one of the most effective ways to generate real opportunities for economic and social growth, strengthening the entrepreneurial culture in the region.
Through these actions, the aim is for future entrepreneurs to understand the importance of business formalization as a tool that facilitates access to new markets, financing, and greater development opportunities.
UMECIT thanks AMPYME for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in this valuable training day, which contributes significantly to strengthening the entrepreneurial skills of our students and to the sustainable development of communities.
