On April 13, students in the fourth semester of the Occupational Safety and Health Career had the opportunity to participate in an academic tour in a leading company in the metalworking products industry. Organized by UMECIT, this tour provided participants with a unique insight into the processes and operations that take place within a company of this type.
The visit began with a warm welcome from the company representative, who gave the students a brief introduction to the history and trajectory of the company. Participants then received a detailed presentation on the products and services the company offers, including its innovations in design and manufacturing.
The tour of the production plant was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the tour. Students were able to observe up close how the different production processes are carried out and understand how the flow of materials and finished products is managed.
A fundamental part of the tour was the talk on safety practices at work. The company highlighted the importance of maintaining high safety standards to protect workers and guarantee product quality. The students learned about the safety regulations and procedures that apply in the plant, as well as the preventive measures taken to minimize risks.
The tour concluded with a question and answer session, during which students had the opportunity to interact with company staff. This interaction allowed students to answer questions, obtain advice, and learn more about the experiences and perspectives of professionals working in the industry.
The academic tour was a transformative experience for all participants. It gave them a practical insight into how manufacturing processes are carried out in a metalworking company, as well as a deeper understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this field.
These types of experiences are invaluable for students and professionals who want to expand their knowledge and explore opportunities in the metalworking industry. We thank the company for opening its doors and offering this unique opportunity to attendees.
