Future nursing professionals prepare to begin their clinical internships in North Panama
As part of their professional training process, second-year students of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UMECIT participated in an induction day organized by the North Panama Health Region, prior to the start of their clinical practices in the health centers of this region.
During the visit they were received by Ms. Antonia Salazar, Head of Nursing, while the induction was led by Ms. Nurilys Ponce, who guided the future professionals on important aspects for their incorporation into the practice scenarios.
This approach allows students to prepare for a new stage of their training, in which they can put into practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom and strengthen their skills and competencies in direct contact with the reality of health services.
Clinical practices also provide an opportunity to strengthen essential values in the practice of Nursing, such as responsibility, empathy, commitment and a vocation for service, always with an eye to providing quality care and contributing to the well-being of the community.
The activity was accompanied by Mgtra. María Vergara, clinical teacher, and Mgtra. Alicia González Morán, coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, who accompany the students during this important academic process.
