We are strengthening training in health data intelligence

As part of the commemoration of Health Statistician Day, celebrated in Panama on September 11, UMECIT Chitré Headquarters developed the training day “Data Intelligence in Health”, led by Dr. Pablo Franco, head of Planning at MINSA in Herrera.

The activity brought together students, graduates, teachers and professionals linked to the Health Records and Statistics (REGES) departments, creating a space for updating and reflecting on the role of data in decision-making within the health sector.

During the day, Dr. Pablo Franco addressed the impact of advanced analytics and the integration of medical records as tools to anticipate epidemiological scenarios, optimize resources and contribute to the design of public policies based on scientific evidence.

Likewise, the importance of moving from manual processes to modern digital platforms was highlighted, capable of transforming health records and data into strategic information to strengthen health management and contribute to better outcomes for the population.

This training represents a significant contribution to the education of students, allowing them to expand their knowledge and become familiar with the new tools and trends that are transforming information management in the health field.

With initiatives like this, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to relevant training connected to the needs of the sector, promoting spaces for updating that strengthen the skills of future professionals and those who contribute daily to the functioning of the Panamanian health system.
