Umecit – University in Panama

Forum: the social worker and migrant

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology - UMECIT - will carry out this forum with the aim of creating a space for discussion and reflection in the university community, on this social issue that is increasing every day, for different reasons in our country, governmental responsibility and the social actions that this implies.

Social Work professionals from Colombia and Ecuador are invited to the conference, with the purpose of showing different external points of view to deal with migration in our continent.

Colombia / Juan de Castellanos University Foundation

  • Yury Viviana Mondragon Algarra, Social Worker and Researcher of the Social Work program of the Juan de Castellanos University Foundation in the research group Ciclo Vital, family and human development. Master in Development Studies and Management. He has 13 years of experience in professional practice in emerging contexts of the profession. He is currently advancing studies from the intersectional approach to understand objects of social work intervention.
  • Anderson Martinez Olmos: Social worker graduated from the Monserrate University Foundation, 7 years of experience in NGOs as a humanitarian actor, coordination of emergency response due to natural disasters and migration, certified trainer of trainers in ESFERA, experience in the protection sector.
