The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- and the University of Technology and Education -UTE- based in Florida, United States, have taken a significant step towards close academic collaboration by signing the cooperation framework agreement. This agreement lays the foundations for a scientific and educational collaboration that will benefit both institutions and the academic community in general.
The fundamental purpose of this agreement is to establish an adequate framework to develop scientific exchange and collaboration actions between UMECIT and UTE, in compliance with the regulations that regulate higher education in their respective countries. Some of the commitments established by both institutions include:
Exchange in areas of interest and institutional benefitl: exchange will be promoted in areas of institutional interest and benefit that contribute to improving the quality of research activities corresponding to this agreement.
Support for strengthening academic journals: An exchange of evaluators will be carried out in areas of interest to support the strengthening of the academic journals of both institutions.
Joint training programs: Joint training programs will be developed for the scientific training of teachers and researchers in areas of mutual interest.
Exchange and publication of academic and scientific documents: Academic and scientific documents will be exchanged, collaborating on joint publications and co-editions of scientific texts, such as books, book chapters, research articles and presentations for magazines, publishers and international events.
Carrying out and participating in academic and scientific events: Academic events will be organized and promoted within the framework of the research activities provided for in this agreement, encouraging joint participation in conferences, symposia and congresses.
Student, teaching and research mobility: Student, teaching and research mobility will be encouraged between both institutions, facilitating participation in events and other activities of institutional interest, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The rector of the University Technology and Education -UTE-, Dr. Manuel Villero Pacheco, highlighted the importance of this agreement, being himself a graduate of this House of Studies. For his part, the rector of UMECIT, Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, stressed that this agreement marks the beginning of various relationships that will contribute to the strengthening of education in Latin America, benefiting students, graduates, graduates and teachers.
