FANLYC– Relay Race for Life 2022

As a university extension policy, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- declares "Strengthen the presence of the University in the different sectors of society, as part of the mission and institutional vision, with social criteria", and activities (FANLYC Relevo por La Vida 2022) to materialize these policies and its responsibility in solving problems in the social context develops actions and projects of social bonding, such as social practices, which are conceived as actions of social work carried out by the students of some disciplines.

This House of Studies has participated for 9 consecutive years in the Relay Race for Life carried out by the Friends of Children with Leukemia and Cancer Foundation -FANLYC-, which represents the committed participation of the community, thus contributing as a socially responsible institution to the formation of a culture of participation and voluntary donations in human society.

FANLYC is a non-profit institution that provides various services to low-income children diagnosed with cancer. Some of the services it offers are: medicines, transportation, psychosocial support, healthy eating, education, and lodging for the child and his family during treatment.

This 2022, the girl Brianna Rodríguez has been chosen to be sponsored by UMECIT, the selection was made according to suggestions from FANLYC.
