Exploring the Mangroves of Chame Bay: A Transformative Experience

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the first-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Logistics and Multimodal Transportation of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, La Chorrera Campus, immersed themselves in an enriching experience in the Mangrove Protected Area of Chame Bay as part of its Environmental Education program.

Accompanied by the dedicated teacher Germán Jaén, a group of 14 students embarked on an aquatic tour through the waters of the mangroves, allowing them to explore and better understand this invaluable ecosystem.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Miambiente officials, Agustín Moran, Jahir González, Leslie Ureña and Katherine Aparicio, whose collaboration provided invaluable information and support throughout the day.

From this experience, an even deeper recognition arises of the importance of human commitment in the eradication of inequalities, the fight against extreme poverty and the preservation of terrestrial and marine ecosystems. We value actions that seek to address economic and sociocultural problems, promoting humanization and care for our environment.

We are firmly committed to the significance of our actions, recognizing their positive impact in fundamental areas such as education, health, work, economic growth, gender equality, energy, water, innovation, industry and action because of the weather.

We continue to work tirelessly for a future of full and sustainable life for all, where our actions reflect our commitment to the care of our planet and the well-being of future generations.
