Students experienced the emotional Gala of Initiation into Nursing Symbolism

Last Saturday, July 18, the students of the A-2026 Promotion of the Nursing career starred in an emotional Gala of Initiation to the Symbolisms of Nursing, a ceremony that marks the beginning of their clinical training and reaffirms their commitment to the care of life and service to the community.

The event was attended by university authorities, teachers, administrative staff, family members and members of the UME community, who accompanied the future professionals in this significant moment.

During the ceremony, the female students received the cap with the pink ribbon, a symbol of vocation, responsibility, and commitment to the profession. The male students, in turn, received the official pin of their program, representing their identity as future healthcare professionals.

One of the most solemn moments of the day was the lighting of Florence Nightingale's lamp, carried out by all the students, who wore their white uniforms for the first time. This traditional symbol represents the light that will guide their path with humanity, ethics, excellence, and a vocation for service during their professional training and in the practice of nursing.

The University congratulates the students of the Class of 2026 on this important step in the beginning of their clinical life and wishes them success in this new stage, in which they will continue preparing to provide comprehensive and quality care to society.
