Occupational Safety and Health students are trained in active breaks to strengthen their knowledge and contribute to workplace well-being
In an effort to enrich their professional training and contribute to both present and future work well-being, professional practice students of the Occupational Safety and Health career at the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- are actively participating in a series specialized training focused on active breaks.
These trainings represent an integral part of these students' commitment to acquiring practical skills and specialized knowledge while completing their internships in real work environments. By specifically addressing the implementation and utility of active breaks, students are strengthening their understanding of how to improve the health and well-being of workers in various professional settings.
The importance of these dynamics goes beyond simply improving the physical health of workers. They also address critical issues related to the prevention of psychosocial risks, physical and ergonomic risks in the workplace, which in turn contributes to creating safer and healthier work environments for all employees.
In collaboration with the UMECIT Physiotherapy Clinic, the University Wellness area has played a fundamental role in providing valuable educational contributions on the inclusion of preventive programs and the promotion of better postural practices. This interdisciplinary partnership not only enriches the student experience, but also demonstrates the university's commitment to the practical application of theory in the field of occupational safety and health.
In addition to strengthening the individual skills of students in professional practice, these activities seek to create effective mechanisms to transfer knowledge to first-time students, thus generating a positive impact on the development and vision of their training as professionals in this crucial field.
These initiatives align perfectly with the development of preventive strategies in anticipation of the International Day for Occupational Safety and Health, which is celebrated on April 28 of each year. This continued commitment to promoting safe and healthy work environments reflects the University's mission to produce skilled, ethical professionals who can contribute meaningfully to society at large.
