Within the framework of the International Childhood Cancer Day, the teacher Jill Manuel carried out an academic practice with his students at the Bachelor's Degree in General Psychology, specifically of the subjects Industrial Psychology I and Methodology of Scientific Research Applied to Psychology, in the Friends of Children with Leukemia and Cancer Foundation (Fanlyc).
During this activity, students applied their knowledge in a real environment, analyzing from Industrial Psychology I the emotional impact of working in non-profit organizations and the role of human talent management in institutions with a strong social component. From Scientific Research Methodology, explored how to design studies that contribute to improving the quality of life of children and their families, generating knowledge applicable to psychological practice.
This initiative was possible thanks to the articulation between the UMECIT Extension and Academic Departments, within the framework of the collaborative agreement with Fanlyc. It should be noted that the Graduate in Social Work who works at Fanlyc is a graduate of our University, which reaffirms the impact of our training in the social sector.
In UMECIT, we continue to promote a education with purpose, promoting the experiential learning and social responsibility, preparing our students to be professionals committed to the development of the country.
