Students from Cali – Colombia participate in an international seminar at UMECIT

In the week of August 15 to 19 of this year, 11 students from the Corporación Universitaria Centro Superior – UNICUCES participated in the International Seminar Workshop on Global Markets and Organizational Internationalization, offered by UMECIT.

On their first day, the students took a City Tour, in which they visited the Miraflores locks of the Panama Canal, the viewpoint of the Bridge of the Americas, Amador Causeway, Casco Viejo and the monumental complex of Panama Viejo with the aim of getting to know historical places of the country.

The following day, Tuesday the 16th, in the conference room, the academic mobility students began the day with folkloric presentations by the typical group from the La Chorrera campus and words from Tourism students about the culture of Panama, and they were invited to a gastronomic sample of Panamanian sweet sandwiches, later the seminar began by Exhibitor: Mgter. Mathieu Zambrano Jean Joseph with the theme: Introduction to Internationalization and on Wednesday 17, the Mgter. Gregorio Vergara developed the module: Diagnosis of Opportunities and Selection of International Markets.

On Thursday the 18th, the academic mission moved to the province of Colón where they visited the Colon Free Zone, considered the largest free zone in America and the Port of Manzanillo, where the students heard about the importance for Panama and the region of this province in matters of trade and logistics.

The visit ended its academic day on Friday the 19th, with the Customs Management module by Mgter. Juan Carlos Acuña, this module is complemented by academic practice and a visit to the Hutchinson Port Company, Panama Port Company in the port of Balboa.

This academic exchange between UNICUCES and UMECIT, allowed the participants to carry out a complete international seminar as a degree option, in order to update and strengthen skills in the area of the International Marketing and Customs Management sector, thus complying with the plan of study of the mobilized and the actions established in the work plan of the agreement.
