Last Thursday, April 18, 2024, an emotional event was held at Hogar Bolívar that marked the closing of a series of activities dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting vulnerable populations in Panama. This initiative was developed within the framework of the UMECIT Health Fair in 2023.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Rector José Alberto Nieto Rojas, the Vice Rector General Claudia Marcela Rueda Ossa, the Director of Extension Yelitza Gónzalez, the University Welfare Team together with the Reading Club, and students from the Safety and Health Career. Occupational health. All of them shared significant moments with the residents of Hogar Bolívar, strengthening community ties and leaving a mark of commitment and solidarity.
The donations delivered, as a result of the contributions collected during the UMECIT 2023 Health Fair, are intended to improve the quality of life of the older adults cared for at the Hogar Bolívar. It is important to highlight that this institution, which celebrates 140 years of service this year, is recognized for its work under the mystique of Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac.
The day was a reflection of the generosity and community spirit of the participants and sponsors of the event, who filled everyone involved with joy and new hope.
