Emotional Graduation Ceremony
With great enthusiasm and pride, our House of Studies celebrated the Sixty-eighth Graduation Ceremony of all the faculties, in Panama City and the Province of Veraguas, Santiago Headquarters, as well as the Virtual Education students.
Within the framework of the ceremonies, the rector, Dr. José Alberto Nieto Rojas, congratulated the graduates, stating that: “many start and few finish, but you have shown that character in difficult situations, among others, because you were protagonists in the pandemic and never gave up, which makes merit more important.
Likewise, he highlighted the reaccreditation process that has just ended, where CONEAUPA gave the University the highest qualification, corresponding to 6 years, in which the new graduates were also protagonists.
"Today we can see the triumph of a life full of expectations, a process to continue advancing is concluded here," said the rector, who also explained the philosophy and the academic model, with a structure that is based "on a series of values that Throughout their training, the University wants students to acquire it with the social responsibility and effort that a professional must have”, added Nieto Rojas.
On the other hand, he urged students to keep in mind the postgraduate and entrepreneurship programs that our House of Studies has: “The University not only trains them to do business, but to build a homeland, to leave a better world for the generations to come” and added “We are in a world where changes are dizzying and those changes are part of the formation. The University has been preparing master's degrees, postgraduate degrees, and permanent updating forms so that students and graduates can continue to grow, with highly technological, updated, and relevant postgraduate courses for a globalized world, with low costs, because what we seek is for our graduates to be constantly updated. ”, explained the rector, who also showed his satisfaction for the triumph of the UMECIT FC team, by obtaining a place in the first division of Panamanian Soccer.

Within the framework of the graduations, the rector also praised the work and responsibility of the virtual students “Students who have been trained virtually from Panama and Colombia and in a year we will have from Ecuador and the United States. 18 years ago we were born with a disruptive project, with virtual education that at that time, beginning the 21st century, conservative education did not see it so well, but today the model of providing education without borders is ratified and as our motto Opening Doors says , Transforming Lives”.
On behalf of the graduates at 10 in the morning, Mr. Adonai Ortega Sanchez expressed his satisfaction for this honor and invited his classmates to take a lesson in humility, belonging and respect, thanking the teachers, parents and family and all what they have supported.
In her turn, in the afternoon ceremony, Dr. Milfred Coronado, also representing the graduates, thanked the board of directors "for preserving a system that, in addition to educating, comprehensively enhances those of us who have had the fortune to be students Umecitas”. And she continued: "I feel proud of our alma mater, which is positioned and accredited as high quality, not only within the country, but also internationally in its virtual and face-to-face versions, thus bringing the world to UMECIT and bringing UMECIT to all of Latin America and the rest of the world”.
