Conversation "Play Inclusion, Let's be part of Equality"

Within the framework of the celebration of the International Day against Homophobia in Soccer, the Department of University Welfare and FC UMECIT, came together to carry out last Tuesday, February 28, the conversation "Play for Inclusion, Let's be part of Equality ” with the aim of raising awareness among participants about discrimination and social exclusion at all levels of sport.

The discussion took place in an environment of respect, education, awareness and access to updated information from professionals who have been working on the development of Public and Social Policies, in order to make the information accessible to all. The purpose of conversing in a safe, transparent, tolerant, and equal environment generated the possibility of promoting safer, more inclusive, and more equitable sporting or collective environments.

Within this conversation we have the distinguished exhibitions:

  • Jackeline Ibarra – Executive Assistant of the Association of Professional Soccer Players of Panama (AFUTPA).
  • Glee Torrealba – Director of the International Coalition of Women and Families (CIMUF).
  • iris reyes – Human Rights Officer of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Panama.
  • Ricardo Mejia – National Consultant on Gender and Development.
  • franklin robinson – President of Independents for Human Rights (IPDH)

This event is promoted within the institutional values RESPONSIBILITY to train and educate in all issues of society, HONESTY to be part of any population that coexists in university work, RESPECT for the other that, without a doubt, is what most It drives us to be active in working to sensitize all the prioritized groups declared in the institution from the Inclusive Education Program, LOVE for the entire community without distinction. UMECIT is convinced that it must continue transforming lives from the formation of new citizens that are tolerant and empathetic.
