Conference on the power of AI and its challenges

UMECIT and IMMUNE Technology Institute, a leading employability training center in Spain, invite you to participate in this discussion where you will understand the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its evolution, how it is being applied, what are the news in this field and the challenges that AI currently has to address. 

This conference will be given by Mónica Villas, a former IBM executive with 25 years of experience in information technology. Monica is also passionate about new ways of teaching and learning, an expert in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and director of the Executive Master in Data Science at IMMUNE Technology Institute.

Within the framework of the event, The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- launches the new master's degree in Data Science & Business Analytics with specialization in business intelligence in collaboration with the European technology training hub IMMUNE Technology Institute, a leading training center in employability in Spain.

This master's degree, which will be taught online, will last 18 months and a total of five quarters, where students will be able to learn the most demanded techniques, strategies, and tools in the Data Science sector with the aim of creating professionals capable of taking the best business decisions based on real data.

With this new training program, directed by computer engineer Ana Patricia García Guerrero, IMMUNE Technology Institute and UMECIT come together with the aim of creating professionals adapted to the needs of the world of work.

In the words of Juan Riva, CEO and founder of IMMUNE, “our objective is the specialization of technological professionals with high employability and incorporation into a labor market that is in great need of these profiles. We are sure that there is no better travel companion to achieve this goal in Panama than to do it hand in hand with the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-”.

Currently, it is estimated that 5 out of every 20 published job offers demand expert profiles in Data Science and it is expected that the demand for Data Science professionals will grow by 54% until 2030.

In fact, according to data provided by the international consultancy IDC, in Latin America and the Caribbean an additional 2.5 million professionals related to ICT will be needed by 2026 and that the demand for new emerging roles oriented to digital businesses will grow faster. than that of traditional IT jobs.

Profile Monica Villas

Industrial Engineer from ICAI, MBA from the Autonomous University of Madrid and former IBM executive. With solid experience in technical pre-sales, and more than 25 years of experience in the IT sector. 

She is passionate about teaching and technology. The technologies in which he has the most experience are Cloud, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.

She is currently a consultant for new technologies and works with Analyticae (AI startup applied to business). He directs an AI master's degree, teaches at different schools (IE, ESIC, IMMUNE Technology Institute, Deusto, Universidad Europea among others), as well as in tailor-made training for different companies (Santander, Orange, Ceseden, Army, BBVA, Alegre Industries…). She is doing a PhD on Artificial Intelligence and is co-founder of ODISEIA (Observatory for Social and Ethical Impact and Artificial Intelligence), as well as co-directing the training area. She is co-author of a book on Ethics applied to Artificial Intelligence that Anaya has published in May 2022.
