Academia and institutions join forces for safer communities

UMECIT, Chitré Headquarters, participated in the Dialogue for Citizen Security, a space for agreement, analysis and diagnosis led by the Minister of Public Security, Frank Alexis Ábrego, together with local authorities and representatives of the provinces of Herrera and Los Santos.

The meeting allowed for addressing the main needs and challenges of the communities, with the purpose of generating proposals focused on prevention, citizen security and inter-institutional coordination, within the framework of the Firmness Plan.

For UMECIT Chitré Campus, being part of this space represents a significant opportunity to strengthen the link between academia, public institutions and the community, promoting a comprehensive vision of security and social well-being.

As an institution committed to training professionals in areas such as Criminalistics, Law, Social Work and other disciplines linked to social development, UMECIT reaffirms its willingness to contribute, through research, scientific knowledge, academic training and community engagement, to building safer, more resilient environments committed to the well-being of Panamanian society.

UMECIT's participation in these spaces reaffirms its commitment to actively contribute to the country's challenges and to generate knowledge that translates into solutions for communities.
