XX Research Conference: a space for learning and innovation at the Santiago Campus

Last Saturday, November 23, the Santiago Headquarters of UMECIT became the epicenter of learning and scientific dissemination by hosting the XX Research Conference. The event, which brought together more than 200 attendees, allowed the presentation of 13 outstanding projects developed by students from various careers such as Occupational Health and Safety, Electrical Engineering Technician, Medical Records, Social Work, Criminology, Law and Environmental Management Administration.

This event, aligned with the articulation between academia, research and institutional outreach, was a space for students to present formative research aimed at solving real problems in their communities. In this way, UMECIT's commitment to the generation of knowledge at the service of society is reaffirmed.

Award-winning projects:

  • 1st Place: Occupational risks faced by garbage collectors in Santiago
    Presented by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 2nd Place: Predictive data analysis in occupational health and safety
    Presented by students of the Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 3rd Place: Amber Alert: Procedures and main deficiencies in Panamanian legislation
    Presented by students of the Bachelor of Law and Political Science.
