UMECIT, Chitré branch, in conjunction with the Authority for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (AMPIME), held a Student Entrepreneurship Promotion Day, with the participation of the regional director of AMPIME Herrera, Mr. Rody Espino.
During the visit to the classrooms, Mr. Espino highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship within the university environment, not only as a business alternative, but as a fundamental pillar for the integral training of the student, especially in an increasingly competitive and changing job market.
The main objective of this event was to strengthen the UMECIT entrepreneur database, as well as to publicize the joint work developed between AMPIME and UMECIT during 2025, aimed at providing support, advice and networking opportunities to students with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Entrepreneurship, as a cross-cutting theme of this initiative, promotes key skills such as resilience, leadership, teamwork and assertive communication, essential skills for integration and permanence in today's labor market.
UMECIT continues to promote the university's vision as an incubator for entrepreneurs, strengthening strategic alliances with institutions in the sector such as AMPIME and other contact networks, which contribute to the economic, social and professional development of the university community.
