Coordination meeting of the Health Promoting University project: MINSA – UMECIT
Within the framework of the Health Promoting University Project, an important coordination meeting between the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and UMECIT Chitré Headquarters, with The objective is to align the training activities that will take place during the year 2026. This project, led by Dr. Hilario Correa of MINSA in conjunction with UMECIT, has with the purpose of reducing risk factors and promoting healthy lifestyles within the university community. Through this strategic alliance, UMECIT acts as an arm implementer of the MINSA's health promotion policies, integrating actions preventive measures both in the academic curriculum and in outreach activities university student. The collaboration, which has its origins in the year 2025, has enabled the implementation of programs aimed at coordinating, promoting and disseminating specific health content aimed at students and administrative and teaching staff, with the aim of transforming the educational environment in a space that promotes holistic well-being. As part of this joint planning, the following schedule will be developed during the year 2026: ● April 11, 2026: Healthy Lifestyle Workshop (hybrid format). ● August 26, 2026: Healthy Lifestyle Seminar (face-to-face format). ● December 2, 2026: Health Fair, Healthy Lifestyles and HIV Clinic.
UMECIT thus reaffirms its commitment to health promotion, prevention and formation of a conscious, active and responsible university community with its welfare.
