UMECIT joins the Gender Parity Initiative in Panama
The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- is proud to participate as one of the 16 companies that today sign their adhesion to the Gender Parity Initiative (GPI) Panama. With this action, our House of Studies sends a clear message of commitment to gender equality, both in the academic and professional fields.
The event was chaired by Her Excellency María Inés Castillo, Minister of Social Development and President of the IPG Gender Parity Council, accompanied by Nayibeth Farab, director of the IPG Panama, María Teresa Villanueva, Senior Gender and Diversity Specialist of the IDB, and Temístocles Rosas, President of the National Council of Private Enterprise. Likewise, we had the distinguished presence of Her Excellency Juana Herrera, Minister of Women, as well as representatives of the 110 companies already members of the IPG.
On behalf of our institution, Yelitza González Zamorano, Extension Director of UMECIT, was present. With this union, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment where all people, regardless of gender, have the same opportunities for success.
UMECIT continues to actively work to promote gender equality and build a more just and inclusive society. We continue to move together towards a future where equality is a palpable reality in all areas of life.
