UMECIT joins the celebration of Inclusion Week: “Diversity that Empowers: Building Bridges of Equality”

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- will actively participate in the Inclusion Week, organized by the Network of Inclusive Universities of Panama (REUNIPA), which will take place from September 16-20, 2024. 

The event, under the motto “Empowering Diversity: Building Bridges of Equality”, aims to promote greater accessibility and educational equity, using a hybrid format to allow both in-person and virtual participation.

Inclusion and Technology Activities: UMECIT will host several sessions on the 19th and 20th, in which key topics will be discussed such as:

• Assistive technologies in the classroom.
• Using social robotics in education.
• Strategies for effective inclusion in educational environments.

These activities reflect the leadership of our Inclusive Education Program, led by University Well-Being, which seeks to implement initiatives that improve educational inclusion for all.

We invite students, teachers, administrators and the general public to join this transformative event, which will provide practical tools to implement changes in inclusive education.

At UMECIT, we believe that diversity not only enriches learning, but also strengthens our communities. Participating in Inclusion Week reaffirms our commitment to accessible and equitable education, and drives us to continue building bridges that connect and empower all students, regardless of their abilities.
