UMECIT reinforces its commitment to the cultural and sporting development of La Chorrera
On August 7, our University met with the Mayor of La Chorrera, Eloy Chong. During the meeting, key issues for the development of the region were discussed, such as the updating of the collaboration agreement between both institutions, the use of municipal sports fields, the endogenous development project of La Chorrera and the active participation of UMECIT in the upcoming national celebrations.
From the University Welfare Department, UMECIT highlighted the importance of strengthening sports and cultural activities, essential elements for the well-being of our university community and society in general. In this sense, the University's commitment to the preservation and promotion of the cultural traditions of La Chorrera was reaffirmed, recognizing its value as a driver of social cohesion and regional growth.
The meeting was organized in close collaboration with the Outreach team, ensuring that the update of the collaboration agreement is carried out effectively, establishing a solid foundation for future collaborations and joint projects. This coordinated effort reflects UMECIT's determination to become a key player in promoting activities that benefit the Chorrera community.
UMECIT firmly believes that cultural and sports development is essential to strengthen community ties and improve social well-being. Through these initiatives, our University seeks to contribute significantly to the growth of La Chorrera, supporting projects that promote the endogenous development of the region.
In the coming weeks, UMECIT and the Municipality of La Chorrera will work in collaborative workshops to plan and carry out the initiatives discussed at the meeting. This joint effort will ensure that the projects respond to the real needs of the community, reaffirming UMECIT's commitment to the sustainable development and well-being of La Chorrera.
With this meeting, UMECIT continues to strengthen its role as a strategic ally in the cultural and sporting development of the region, working hand in hand with local authorities to build a prosperous future for all.
