In the framework of the commemoration of the 25 years of the Ibero-American Environmental Network (REIMA), the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) was honored with a special plaque for its outstanding commitment and contributions to the solution of environmental and sustainability problems in Panama.
The event was held at the National University of Costa Rica, Liberia campus, and was attended by important representatives from the academic and environmental fields. Dr. Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas, rector of UMECIT, received the recognition and reaffirmed the institutional commitment to continue strengthening alliances with REIMA, expanding the scope of this work for the benefit of society.
The event also included the participation of the Dr. Magdy De las Salas, Director of Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies at UMECIT, and the Lic. Carlos Sayin, academic assistant of the Doctoral program.
This achievement was possible thanks to the tireless work of teachers, researchers, students and administrators from all UMECIT campuses, who joined the research greening project. Their dedication and commitment allow us to advance with social relevance towards a more sustainable future.
At UMECIT, we reiterate our university responsibility and our vision to continue generating initiatives that promote sustainable development and care for the environment in Panama and beyond.
