UMECIT participates in the formation of the Research and Evaluation Network of the Ministry of Education

We are pleased to have been invited as a private university institution to form the Research and Evaluation Network, led by Ms. Gina Garcés Ruiz, National Director of Educational Evaluation of the Ministry of Education.

 This important space will promote research and participatory action in the classroom in Panamanian schools, which will impact the education of Panamanian children and youth and will also serve as input for decision-making.

The rector, Dr. José Alberto Nieto, participated in this important event, and together with the Minister of Education, Her Excellency Lucy Molinar; the University of Panama, represented by Dr. Migdalia Bustamante, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences; and educational teams from the various provinces of the country, signed a commitment agreement for the development of this project and transcendental initiative.

This special recognition of our university further commits us as driving agents from the interdisciplinary and interinstitutional advisory committee for the operation of the Network, allowing us to continue contributing to the research culture and the development of science in the country.

Representatives of the State's legislative body and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, as a strategic ally, also attended the event.
