UMECIT La Chorrera promotes entrepreneurship with a successful Entrepreneurship Seminar

The La Chorrera headquarters of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) carried out the Entrepreneurship Seminar, an initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship and strengthen the skills needed to create, develop, and sustain business ideas.

This academic and training space brought together students, new entrepreneurs, and external participants, promoting training, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of support networks that contribute to entrepreneurship as a driver of economic and social development in the region.

Objectives achieved:

  1. Provide practical tools and knowledge on business creation and management, tailored to different experience levels.

  2. Promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and good practices.

  3. Encourage the development of soft and business skills such as leadership, innovation, and effective communication.

  4. Strengthen the connection between entrepreneurs, educational institutions, and stakeholders in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

  5. Promote the generation of sustainable value propositions that contribute to community development.

The seminar effectively articulated the substantive functions of the university:

  • Teaching: strengthening practical learning and the development of entrepreneurial skills.

  • Research: promoting the analysis and validation of business ideas.

  • Extension: facilitating links with the community and external entrepreneurs.

  • Management: ensuring successful planning and execution thanks to the collaborative work of the different areas.

This seminar not only met the proposed objectives, but also reaffirmed UMECIT's institutional commitment to the comprehensive training, innovation and social development, projecting itself as a promoter of entrepreneurship in the region.
