In the framework of the Social Work Day in Panama, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT-, faithful to its Neo Cyberhumanist model, reaffirms its commitment to the professional development of Social Workers at a national level. In response to a request from the Ministry of Government (MINGOB), the workshop entitled «Updating Social Reports, Good Practices and Tools for Social Workers», taught by Master Yelitza González, Director of Extension at UMECIT, with the support of the Graduate Coordinator, Jardiel Moreno.
This workshop was designed to enrich the professional profile of participants, ensuring a significant improvement in the evaluation and monitoring processes of cases, which, in turn, positively impacts more informed and effective decision-making in their daily work.
During the activity, Social Work professionals analyzed hypothetical cases, identified difficulties and opportunities for improvement, and delved deeper into the application of the unique evaluation instrument for this profession. This training not only strengthens their skills, but also provides them with practical tools to optimize their performance.
The workshop was held under the UMECIT-MINGOB Cooperation Agreement, which allowed for joint actions for the growth and development of our country, strengthening the ties between both institutions.
The welcome was given by the Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Hermes Mauricio Sierra, who urged the participants to continue updating themselves in the processes of the profession and highlighted that UMECIT will always be available to Social Workers to continue with their Continuing Education through our diplomas and specialized programs.
With these initiatives, UMECIT continues to play a key role in training professionals who, with their work, transform and improve social well-being in Panama.
