In line with its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, UMECIT University held last August 2 he Workshop "Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in Research", aimed at students and teachers of the institution. This important activity was facilitated by the Professor and researcher Sandra Malavera Pineda, of the Luis Amigó Catholic University of Colombia.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for training and reflection on the current challenges facing researchers in the face of the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence-based technologies. During the day, various AI tools currently available to the academic community were presented, as well as their potential applications in scientific research processes.
One of the central axes of the workshop was the analysis of the ethical implications the use of these tools, promoting a critical and responsible view of their integration into academic work. Professor Malavera highlighted the importance of ensuring the transparency, integrity and quality in scientific production, without losing sight of the reflective and active role of the researcher as a generator of knowledge.
The activity reaffirms UMECIT's commitment to a high-level training, which responds to the challenges of the digital age, promotes the continuous development of its academic community and fosters ethical thinking as a fundamental pillar in the construction of knowledge.
