In an effort to remain at the forefront of health education, the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- has acquired state-of-the-art simulators for its Health Sciences students. These high-fidelity simulators offer an immersive and realistic learning experience.
For Ana Dinora de León, intensive care nurse specialist and clinical simulation expert, these simulators are a crucial tool for training future health professionals. «Clinical simulation is trying to get to a medical, nursing, or health event, as close to reality as possible. It is a tool that teachers use so that a student can repeat, provide feedback and be able to repeat as many times as necessary to achieve that learning.
Simulators allow students to practice medical and nursing procedures in a safe and controlled environment. From taking vital signs to complex surgical procedures, students can repeat and refine their skills without jeopardizing patient safety.
With these simulators, our students will be able to feel that security and empathy with the patient when they enter the practical hospital environment. It is a gain for your professional training.
Likewise, constant feedback from teachers ensures that students continually improve, since every time a student makes a mistake or doesn't make a mistake, the teacher's feedback will guide them to improve.
