UMECIT celebrates World Radiology Day with academic and sports activities
The past November 8th, UMECIT commemorated the World Radiology Day, highlighting the 129 years since the discovery of X-rays. As part of the celebration, an enriching «Conference to commemorate Radiology Day», where students of the program enjoyed presentations given by recognized specialists in the area.
The event concluded with a toast and cake, promoting a sense of belonging and appreciation of the history and impact of this discovery in the medical field.
A tournament that brought generations together: students and professionals in action
As part of the activities, on Saturday November 16th, UMECIT participated in the football tournament organized by the National Association of Radiology, held in Amador. This exciting sporting event brought together students and professionals from the area, creating a space for interaction and learning in an atmosphere of camaraderie.
Tournament highlights:
- Participation of 8 teams, made up of Radiology students and professionals.
- Promotion of values such as discipline, teamwork and inclusion.
- Strengthening ties between generations, showing how sport can be a bridge between experience and youth.
The Mgtr. Zuleika De Leon, Academic Coordinator of the Radiology program, said:
"This activity represents a unique opportunity for our students to learn from professionals not only sporting skills, but also values that will enrich their personal and professional development."
