UMECIT celebrates international cooperation framework agreement with the University of Los Llanos in Colombia
With the purpose of promote cooperation between the parties in order to jointly carry out projects, programs and academic, scientific, social and cultural activities, in areas of common interest, our House of Studies and the University of Los Llanos signed this March 17, 2023 a framework agreement for international cooperation.
Within the framework of the agreement, joint teaching and research projects will be developed, stimulating the formation of mixed work teams; the exchange of academic staff and undergraduate and graduate students for teaching, research, advisory purposes, to share experiences or as Peer Evaluators for Scientific Articles; likewise, exchange of academic personnel, and graduates to carry out postgraduate studies, academic stays, research stays aimed at strengthening academic programs; and exchange of information, documents, publications and audiovisual material; Virtual exchange of teachers (mirror classes) for the development of virtual workshops or activities that contribute to the global profile of the student community. Activities will also be carried out to contribute to the activities and development of postgraduate training at the master's and doctoral level of professors from academic institutions.
Among others, advice and development of undergraduate and postgraduate training programs will be carried out; internships/internships for students, professors, researchers, administrators, professionals and specialists, focused on the labor market and/or research, which allow them to acquire skills and competencies for work and research and support for holding events in areas of common interest or of meetings on cross-cutting issues to the development of this Agreement.
Within the framework of the agreement, which was carried out virtually, the Dr. Charles Robin Arosa Carrera, rector of the University of Llano He highlighted the importance of this type of agreement, which is essential to have a more global vision, and he expressed his hopes that more projects can be advanced.
“These agreements allow us to continue participating in these construction processes in the region, so that students, teachers and administrators have a more global vision and that with certainty in that very cosmopolitan country, the commercial capital of all of Latin America, we can take advantage of those benefits. and also to put at the service the University of the Plains in the points that we can develop”, indicated the Dr Arosa, who ended by reiterating his gratitude to the dr grandson by signing this agreement.
For his part, the rector of our House of Studies was pleased with the signing of this framework agreement, pointing out the importance of strengthening ties and to be able to carry out research and mobility projects.
"The doors of the University are open and in this transfer process the vision of the students is broadened, hopefully we will come to realize a joint development program, that is where education is pointing," said the rector Dr. Nieto Rojas and added that "You have to work for the region because the needs are almost the same".
Finally, the rector of UMECITHe reiterated his gratitude to the Dr. Camilo Torres for being the architect of this agreement and invited the University of the Plains to visit our University in Panama.
