Statistics is a science that provides methodology, methods, techniques and procedures, which are used to plan, collect, organize, process, analyze and interpret the behavior of data from a population under study or to infer about a part of it, in order to meet the objectives established in scientific research, intervention or institutional archives, contributing to decision making, always recognizing the presence of uncertainty (Guerrero and Botacio, 2022).
For the Humanistic and Education Sciences, considering the careers pursued at UMECIT, statistics becomes a tool for each of them.
In Physical Education and Personal Training, English, Preschool Education and Social Work and Human Development, research processes are developed throughout the different subjects, or at the end of the careers, for the delivery of degree works in both undergraduate and graduate programs, where statistics provides a variety of alternatives for the analysis of data, depending on the requirements of each research and the fulfillment of the established objectives.
In this sense, the Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies, in accordance with the Research Master Plan and the Institutional Research and Graduate Program of UMECIT, promotes this type of talks for the research professors of our University, graduate and undergraduate students in their final years, so that, in an introductory way, a better approach of statistics with the specialized needs in each field of science and in a very particular way in this case for the Health Sciences is promoted.
