Diagnostic Workshop strengthens community coordination against domestic violence

With the aim of preventing and addressing domestic violence from a territorial and participatory approach, the Project Diagnostic Workshop was held. “Communities United Against Domestic Violence”, led by the Ministry of Women in coordination with governmental, non-governmental institutions and academia.

The event promoted the inclusion and active participation of all sectors of the community, integrating the university's substantive functions:

  • Teaching: It served as a learning space for students and teachers, practically applying knowledge in human rights, gender, and community work.

  • Research: Relevant qualitative inputs and data were generated to understand the phenomenon of domestic violence in the local context, contributing to future studies.

  • Extension: The link between the university and the community was strengthened, promoting participatory processes for the prevention and attention of this social problem.

  • Management: Inter-institutional coordination and resource planning were consolidated for the sustainable execution of the project.

The workshop reaffirms the institutional commitment to promoting human rights and eradicating domestic violence, highlighting the importance of joint action between the State, academia, and civil society to generate real and sustainable impacts in communities.
