The School of Humanities and Educational Sciences, together with the Extension and Continuing Education Department, organized the International Workshop on Physical Education and Quality of Life: "A Right for Everyone to Promote Health", which was held from June 23 to 25. The event was attended by renowned guests, including Ricardo González from Brazil, Luis Gabriel Rangel from Colombia, Deybis Herrera from Cuba, Maristela de Lima from Brazil, Mauricio Mellones from Argentina and Juan Ramón Solís from Panama, among other distinguished professionals.
During the seminar, several relevant topics were addressed, including prevention and promotion of physical and emotional health for health professionals in Central America, physical activity and sports training for older adults, the benefits of physical activity, exercise and sports for asthmatics, sports psychology, research in sports (via videoconference) and the relationship between physical activity and health.
The seminar workshop provided an enriching space for the professional development of the attendees, who included students of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Personal Training, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education, teachers and officials of the Ministry of Education of Panama (MEDUCA).
UMECIT's main objective is to promote high-level activities that generate academic spaces for the benefit of the formation of integral professionals capable of facing the demands as suitable experts in Panama and globally.
